About Grace Elizabeth
Raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Grace Elizabeth Martin is a pianist turned singer/songwriter who currently lives in the St. Lawrence river valley of upstate New York. In a similar vein to Norah Jones, Grace Elizabeth is not bound to a particular genre but borrows from a variety of styles in her writing and performance, including jazz, blues, gospel and pop. A longtime improviser, Grace Elizabeth began songwriting after completing her Master’s degree in music. Her songs come to her organically, inspired by her experiences as a Gen Z, Catholic woman, trying to live generously and authentically in a wild and changing world. Her message and music is for any person who desires the same.

Grace Elizabeth Martin is a pianist turned singer/songwriter based in the St. Lawrence river valley in upstate New York. Growing up in Fairbanks, Alaska, she received classical piano lessons from a young age, later adding Jazz and discovering her love for improvisation and composition. Though a lifelong choir member, Martin only became a solo singer when she realized her songs needed someone to sing them. A long history of eclectic musical taste has helped develop her own style with a diversity of colors borrowed from multiple genres. Martin received her Bachelors of Arts in Music and Russian from St. Olaf College in 2022 and her Masters in Music from the University of Idaho in 2024 under a generous Graduate Teaching Assistantship provided by the University. She has performed at a variety of venues in upstate New York, as well as in the beautiful Adirondack State Park. Martin was awarded the ALCA Individual artist grant in 2025 to perpetuate her work as a song writer and in 2026 she released her debut solo album, “A Year as a Person”, which includes ten original songs written, performed and produced by the artist. In addition to her performing and song writing mission, Martin teaches as an adjunct professor at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and runs a thriving private piano studio.
